In a few short weeks I will be traveling to Asia on a 4 ½ month stay. The trip begins August 12th with a 10 day visit to beautiful Beijing, China will I will experience a Peking duck diner, the Great Wall of China, and the Olympic village. Once done in Beijing I will take a night express train ride from Beijing to Shanghai.
Following the 10 days in China, I will travel to South Korea where I will be spending the next three months at Yonsei University of Wonju. I had a choice to pick Korea University located in Seoul with 30,000 + students or Yonsei University, located an hour south east of Seoul with around 10,000 students. Yonsei offers a beautiful campus in the mountains of Korea as well as weekly cultural field trips for all international students. These traits and the smaller number of students attracted me to Yonsei. While at Yonsei I will be conducting an English discussion group with Korean students. We will have a chance to compare cultures and talk about current issues facing our countries. At a later date I would love to have input from any one with possible discussion topics that I could explore.
Finally, the trip will end in the last weeks of December with a 5 day trip to Tokyo, Japan. In total, I will have traveled to three Asian countries and 17,000 + miles.
